Deb Davies, DACM, L.Ac.
Dr. Deb Davies, DACM, L.Ac., is a licensed acupuncturist, childbirth educator, and the founder and owner of PUSH San Diego. She’s spent over 20 years passionately following her mission of supporting women in fertility, pregnancy, birth, and postpartum care. She empowers expectant couples by educating and equipping them with natural and integrative health care options.
Over the course of her career, Deb has helped thousands of families in their childbirth journey. She has a renowned expertise in helping families overcome fertility obstacles, maintain a healthy full-term pregnancy, and prepare for an optimal birth experience. She also provides support during labor and birth with acupuncture, acupressure, and massage therapy, and is highly skilled in postpartum recovery care and optimizing C-section recovery time.
Deb brings a remarkable degree of empathy to her practice at PUSH San Diego. Her first daughter, Mia Belle, was stillborn at term from an umbilical cord accident in March of 2001. Her second daughter, Lauryn, was born a year later. Both girls instill Deb’s work with an unparalleled degree of inspiration and passion that enable her to compassionately support other women through the childbirth process, including support for miscarriage and recurring pregnancy losses.
Even outside of her work at PUSH San Diego, Deb continues to follow her passion for integrative medicine. In 2006, she founded the Integrative Medical Discussion Group to bring together Eastern and Western medical students. She also served as the director of Alumni Services and Community Education at Pacific College of Oriental Medicine in San Diego and as the Community Partnership Committee co-director of the Center for Integrative Medicine at the University of California, San Diego. She’s currently an event coordinator and continuing education provider for licensed acupuncturists, and was recognized as an Alumni Leader in the field of Chinese Medicine and Integrative Medicine.

Alisa Galvan (she/her), L.Ac., Dipl.OM, IBCLC
Alisa Galvan is an Internationally Board Certified Lactation Consultant, Licensed Acupuncturist, and Degreed Nutritionist. She has held space for mothers and their families with nutrition, prenatal, birth, and lactation support for more than 15 years. Alisa has been practicing Traditional Chinese Medicine for more than 10 years working with a range of clients from veterans to children successfully treating an even larger variety of symptoms and imbalances, but her passion has always been working with families around fertility, pregnancy, birth, and postpartum. This passion was further highlighted as she journeyed into motherhood herself and searched out resources to support her own pregnancies and postpartum phases. Alisa met Deb during her second pregnancy and was treated by, lovingly guided by, and mentored by her.
Alisa’s background working in a variety of modern health care systems has ignited her passion to learn, study and practice modalities that are more natural, holistic, and individualized. She uses food as medicine in all her treatment plans and is passionate about helping her clients connect to and regain trust in their bodies using the breath to movement. She loves educating families about breast/chest-feeding as well as the importance of postpartum care. Alisa is compassionate in her search for the root cause of her patients’ imbalances and the individualized treatments that she provides create a nourishing, safe space that encourages the body, mind, and spirit’s natural impulse to return to balance in a gentle yet effective way.
Alisa is so grateful for this opportunity and feels as if joining this team is where her calling and path have finally lead her, the culmination of everything she has been learning, practicing, and envisioning for many years. She is humbled and honored to be of service and included in the support of your healthy fertility, prenatal and postpartum journeys.
I love connecting with mommas, babies, and families at the beginning of their postpartum journey and have come to learn and teach the importance of deep, nourishing support and care during the postpartum phase, which traditions across cultures have wisely taught for thousands of years. My passion for supporting families guided me to become an IBCLC (Internationally Board Certified Lactation Consultant). During the pregnancy with my 2nd daughter, I started seeing Dr. Deb for acupuncture treatments, and her extensive knowledge and radiant support continued to reinforce my excitement of using Chinese Medicine modalities to support mothers and their families and it feels like a heaven-sent and natural next step to join her team here at PUSH!
I’m passionate about listening fully to the desires of my patients, using food as medicine, and using the breath to reconnect to the body to empower individuals and families to trust and tap into the balance that their bodies and minds intuitively desire to return to. I am so grateful and honored for this opportunity to support you and your family during this precious time!
Schedule HERE to schedule with Alisa. This is perfect if you are pregnant or just had a baby! She is extremely knowledgeable with all things postpartum. Come in and get an acupuncture treatment and get any of your breastfeeding questions answered at the same time!
