Spark Mamas Learn more

When moms have access to the support and care they need, the whole family benefits. Spark Mamas offers meaningful gifts of experience that are designed to make life a little easier for mothers. Not all gifts need to be material, sometimes all a mom really wants is a clean house, uninterrupted time to herself, and a hot meal.

A mother’s time is precious so we’ve made it easy for her to get the care she deserves. Moms can confidently create a registry of services they need and share it with friends and family, or shop for themselves and get exactly what they want. We’ve vetted all of our providers, who are also women and mothers, so they understand the value of supportive care for moms.

By purchasing a gift for yourself or the mom in your life, you’re also supporting women and mothers in business. In addition, with every purchase, we give back to a non-profit that is dedicated to supporting mothers and families. You’re not just supporting the mom in your life, you’re supporting a community.

Mama Meals Learn more

"INDEED A NEW MOTHER IS JUST AS FRAGILE AS HER BABY.”

Postpartum, also called the 4th trimester, is a sacred time of physical healing and emotional adjustment. Moms must replenish lost nutrients, produce breast milk, rebalance hormones and bond with a new baby all while healing from the physical trauma of Birth.

Our ancestors knew proper postpartum recovery keeps depression at bay, helps build strong emotional connections, and can even prevent future illness. Societal pressure for Moms today to bounce back to their pre-baby body, productivity, and high-spirits is a sign we have lost our way.

“LET FOOD BE THY MEDICINE AND MEDICINE BE THY FOOD.”

It takes time to sort things out.  The good news is that you have come to the right place! We are people and parents like you. We have our own lived experience and we've been honored to have others share their experience with us. You are one of these experts. Without you, your knowledge, insight, and expertise we could not exist.

We specialize in answering questions about the benefit/risk of exposures, such as medications, vaccines, chemicals, herbal products, substances of abuse, maternal health conditions and much more, during pregnancy or breastfeeding. Cinna Moms Learn more

Every day we make a commitment to support, encourage, and lend a pair of listening ears to our community on breastfeeding.  Pre-COVID we hosted support circles in 9 WIC centers that have a high population of African American families.  In 2015, our vision was to increase breastfeeding rates among Black/African American women at the PHFE WIC Program. We created support circles that extended beyond our WIC services to provide encouragement and a safe space to chat about historical feeding practices, perceptions of breastfeeding, familial feeding experiences, and the health benefits of breastfeeding. We discuss interesting topics that spark conversations about maternal and postpartum health, support systems,  and cultural beliefs while enjoying nutritious foods.

Postpartum Health Alliance Learn more

The San Diego Postpartum Health Alliance is a nonprofit dedicated to perinatal mental health awareness, education, and support.  Despite being the most common complication of childbirth, Perinatal Mood and Anxiety Disorders (PMADs) continue to be under-recognized, undiagnosed, untreated (although highly treatable), and stigmatized.

We work hard to change that.

Global Health Media Learn more

Our mission is to improve health care and health outcomes, especially in low-resource settings, by developing videos that “bring to life” health care information known to save lives.

Frontline health workers provide the first and often the only care for millions of people around the globe. Often their training is minimal. And when training is available, it is often ineffective due to the emphasis on lectures and textbook learning that fail to provide demonstrations of hands-on procedures. We believe in the teaching power of video to change this paradigm, by providing an effective way to share knowledge, skills, and information across continents, cultures, and languages.
